Dressmaker commission guide

Dressmaker Commission Requirements Explained

If the requirements appear complete but the final action is missing, the problem may be an unfinished or missing garment piece rather than the brief itself. Open the Stuck or Can't Progress guide.

The five checks to make before spending coin

Official source

1. Budget

Budget is a limit on the whole plan. Choose the main components first, estimate fabric, and leave room for required trim or accessories.

2. Hard constraints

Check hard material, colour, trim, or other restrictions before style preferences.

3. Quality

Quality is its own requirement. Use the value and feedback displayed by your current build as the source of truth.

4. Style and attribute targets

Use the live direction, symbol, and wording while comparing component, fabric, and finishing choices; do not assume every numeric condition means “at least.”

5. Physical completion

Confirm every required pattern piece is cut and placed, every required seam is sewn, required decoration is attached, and no condition remains unmet.

A safe commission-planning order

This order reduces the chance that you discover an impossible budget or missing condition after the fabric has already been cut.

  1. 1Read the whole brief.
  2. 2Record budget, hard constraints, quality, and style targets.
  3. 3Choose the major dress components.
  4. 4Preview how the component and fabric choices affect the requested qualities in your current build.
  5. 5Estimate how much fabric the plan needs.
  6. 6Buy only after the plan fits both the brief and budget.
  7. 7Arrange every panel before cutting.
  8. 8Recheck the brief before final delivery.

Why a commission can still look incomplete

Community-reported

Follow the current brief's comparison direction instead of treating every number as a minimum.

A dress can look appropriate and still miss a required colour, material, or accessory condition.

A missing piece or unsown seam can prevent the final action even when visible values appear satisfied.

Players have reported launch-week cases where a cut piece appeared after saving, quitting, and reloading. This is a community-reported workaround, not an official guarantee.

What this page deliberately does not claim

Game Onramp does not publish exact scoring or colour-area calculations, one mandatory outfit solution per commission, or thresholds copied from extracted game data or another guide. These details are version-sensitive and require independent current-build verification.

Frequently asked questions

Is there only one correct dress for a commission?
Use the current brief as the pass condition rather than treating a third-party outfit as the only solution.
Everything is green. Why can I not submit?
Check every pattern piece, placement, seam, and hard condition, then use the progress troubleshooting guide for missing inventory state or launch-build bugs.
Should I spend the full budget?
No official overview says you must spend all of it; preserve room for required materials or finishing items.

Applies to the full Steam release. Official sources establish the commission and crafting loop; launch-week completion issues come from repeated community reports and remain labeled as such.
