All six modes at a glance
GangBang and Chaos reward kill totals. Turf War, Hit A Lick, Destroy The Block and Chain Snatch require an objective action. The following practical decisions are editorial advice derived from those official rules.
| Mode | Format | Scoring action | Common mistake |
|---|---|---|---|
| Turf War | Two opposing gangs | Hold territory for your gang and push the opposing team off its turf. | Chasing kills while your side loses control of the objective. |
| GangBang | Two gangs | Win the gang-versus-gang firefight. | Looking for a capture zone or objective item the mode does not require. |
| Chaos | Every player for themselves | Outscore every other player in free-for-all combat. | Expecting the other gang to act as your allied team. |
| Hit A Lick | Two opposing gangs | Steal the enemy bag and bring it back to your own side, while defending your own bag. | Leaving your own bag undefended while everyone attacks. |
| Destroy The Block | Attacking vs defending gang | One side plants a bomb; the other must stop the plant or defuse the bomb. | Expecting to respawn immediately in the same round or treating the mode as destruction of buildings. |
| Chain Snatch | Gang-based opposing teams | Earn points by collecting chains dropped by defeated enemies; recover friendly chains to deny enemy points. | Assuming a kill automatically completes the scoring task. |
Turf War — hold territory
Official sourceYour gang earns points from territory it controls. Take fights that help you hold or regain that territory, then return to the scoring area instead of pursuing every retreating opponent.
After a successful fight, ask whether your gang still controls the turf. A useful elimination can open the objective; the territory is what earns points.
- Watch for this mistake: Chasing kills while your side loses control of the objective.
GangBang — team kill score
Official sourceTwo gangs compete, and the team with the most kills wins. Work with your side to win fights and keep the team score in view.
Use this mode when you want a direct team kill objective. You do not need a bag run or chain pickup to fulfill the published scoring rule.
- Watch for this mistake: Looking for a capture zone or objective item the mode does not require.
Chaos — individual kill score
Official sourceChaos is individual free-for-all: the player with the most kills wins. Every other player is a rival, even if you were teammates in a previous match.
Choose Chaos for individual scoring. Check your individual score and avoid carrying team-mode assumptions into the next encounter.
- Watch for this mistake: Expecting the other gang to act as your allied team.
Hit A Lick — steal and return the bag
Official sourceSteal the opposing gang’s bag and bring it back to your side while protecting your own bag. Taking the bag is only part of the job; the return and your home defense both matter.
Before running forward, check whether someone is defending your bag. A useful team decision is choosing between a bag run, protecting its return route and guarding your own objective.
- Watch for this mistake: Leaving your own bag undefended while everyone attacks.
Destroy The Block — one life, plant or defuse
Official sourceOne gang attacks with a bomb and the other stops it. Plant or defuse to win, with one life per player each round. Identify whether you are attacking or defending before taking a risky fight.
On attack, work toward the bomb objective; on defense, prevent the plant or respond to it. Preserve your single life when an unnecessary fight would leave your side unable to act. Read the live round display for its timer and score target.
- Watch for this mistake: Expecting to respawn immediately in the same round or treating the mode as destruction of buildings.
Chain Snatch — collect and deny chains
Official sourceDefeated enemies drop chains. Collect enemy chains to score, and recover teammates’ chains to deny the opposition those points. An elimination and the scoring pickup are separate actions.
After a fight, look for the drop and decide whether you can reach it safely. When a teammate falls, recovering the friendly chain can stop the other gang scoring from that elimination.
- Watch for this mistake: Assuming a kill automatically completes the scoring task.
Use bot practice to learn one scoring action
Custom matches let you choose the map, mode and match settings, then add bots. Keep one mode while learning what happens after a fight: regain turf, return the bag, protect the bomb or retrieve a chain. Check the live options for the combinations your current version offers.

- 1Pick the scoring action you want to practice.
- 2Create a custom match, select a map and mode, and add bots.
- 3After each fight, complete the objective action instead of treating kills as the whole task.
- 4Review the score display, then try that same objective against online opponents.
Mode decisions and scoring questions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| GangBang or Chaos for learning kill scoring? | Choose GangBang for a shared team kill total. Choose Chaos for individual scoring against everyone else. |
| Why can kills alone fail in Chain Snatch? | Enemy chains must be collected to score; recover friendly drops to deny the other gang. Check the drop after an elimination. |
| Which mode has one life per round? | Destroy The Block explicitly has one life per round. Check the current in-game rules for the other modes’ respawn settings. |
| Is Destroy The Block about destroying buildings? | The official rule is bomb attack and defense: plant or defuse, with one life each round. |
| How should a team split its effort in Hit A Lick? | Watch your own bag while attacking theirs. Choose a run, cover the return or defend home according to where the bags and teammates are. |
