Weapon Parts: earn, extract, then buy Weapon Mods

Official source

Weapon Parts are the resource used for persistent Horde Weapon Mod progression. Earn them through class-level progression and mission rewards, including optional Secondary Objectives and coordinated Weapon Part Stockpiles. Mission-collected Parts are kept only when at least one member of your four-player squad successfully extracts and completes the mission.

Unlock a Weapon Mod on the class level track, purchase it with Weapon Parts, then equip it in your loadout. An unlocked mod still needs that purchase. If nobody in your squad extracts, the Parts collected during that mission are lost; prioritize getting a squadmate onto the Raven after clearing the landing zone.

Horde Siege in 30 seconds

Official source

Each squad selects a mission inside a larger battle, completes objectives, collects Energy and rewards, then faces final pressure and tries to extract.

  • 12 players organized as three four-player squads
  • Three maps at launch with post-launch additions planned

Difficulty follows class progression

Official source

The official deep dive recommends these class-level ranges for the three higher difficulties.

  • Infantry: recommended for class levels 10–20.
  • Commander: recommended for class levels 20–30.
  • Allfather: recommended for max-level classes.

Five launch objective types

Official source

Most missions center on R.I.G. scanning equipment and combine one or more official objective archetypes with difficulty, modifiers and in-match events.

  • Secure: clear Locust from a critical area.
  • Calibrate: defend zones near a R.I.G.
  • Repair: recover and reinstall scattered R.I.G. components.
  • Defend: protect an active R.I.G. during its mapping sequence.
  • Horde: defend one R.I.G. through 10 waves.

Secondary Objectives and Invasion Events

Official source

Secondary Objectives are optional squad tasks that can award Weapon Parts, equipment and Squad Perks. Invasion Events notify all three squads, add a temporary match-wide disruption such as blocked extraction or disabled Supply Caches, and reward participating squads.

  • Mission Modifiers change combat conditions at higher difficulty.
  • Poisons strengthen the Locust after boss waves for the affected squad.
  • Invasion Events bring major enemies and encourage cross-squad cooperation.

COG Resupply and the shared battlefield

Official source

Free COG Resupplies attract Locust forces, so their reward is paired with risk.

  • Supply Drops provide free equipment and modded weapons.
  • Perk Caches offer three Squad Perks, with first interaction deciding the best perk.
  • Weapon Part Stockpiles require coordination with other squads to claim their Weapon Parts.

Death, COG Tags and Squad Lives

Official source

A dead player drops COG Tags. A squadmate can carry the tags to a Supply Cache to revive that player; a player from another squad can pick them up for an instant revival.

If the entire four-player squad is wiped, the squad respawns and consumes one Squad Life. Once those lives run out, a wipe ends the mission and awards partial XP. Individual tag recovery and a full squad wipe are separate steps in this loop.

  • A surviving squadmate: recover the tags and deliver them to a Supply Cache.
  • Another squad nearby: ask a player from that squad to pick up the tags for an instant revival.
  • Full squad wiped: one Squad Life is consumed; with none left, the mission fails.

Energy and Weapon Parts are different

Official source

Energy is an in-session shared earn pool with individual spending. Weapon Parts support persistent weapon customization and are retained only if at least one squad member extracts.

  • Spend Energy at Supply Caches, on Squad Perks or at some defensive positions.
  • Unlocking a Weapon Mod does not purchase it; each unlocked mod still requires Weapon Parts before it can be equipped.
  • Weapon Parts collected during a mission persist only if at least one squad member extracts and completes the mission.

Class levels and persistent progression

Official source

Every completed mission grants Class XP. Each launch class has 30 levels that unlock loadout weapons, equipment and mod options; key milestones also improve base health and damage.

  • Class progression controls what can appear in a player’s Supply Cache options.
  • Weapon customization is shared across classes when the same weapon is equipped.

Armor, Tactical Gear and Weapon Mods

Official source

The three mod families affect different layers of a class build.

  1. 1Armor Mods adjust soldier traits such as health, ammo reserves, swap speed or execution benefits.
  2. 2Tactical Gear Mods improve the class-specific equipment through cooldown, range or added effects.
  3. 3Weapon Mods alter weapon behavior, but must first be unlocked on a class track and then purchased with Weapon Parts.
